Goodbyes, Hellos, and Our New Project in Malawi
These past few weeks have been busy as ever at help2kids with lots of excitement and comings and goings. We said farewell to our wonderful volunteers Susi and Phil on June 7th. Both contributed a lot to the organization during their time here and the children really miss them! (Below is a video of Susi and Seraina singing with the kids).
However, we now have a wonderful new team of volunteers: Yvonne and Daniel from Germany, Isabelle, Seraina, Cintia, Manuel, and Kristina from Switzerland, Laura, Margault, and Anais from France, and Gillian from Canada. They are having lots of fun and doing good work at the children’s home, Wamato School, and our new project, Kunduchi School (more on that in our next blog!). In other exciting news, Erin, the new Manager for our Friendly Gecko Guest House and projects in Malawi is here visiting for a few days before she goes to Lifuwu, Leopard Beach, Malawi, to set up our programs there. She is very happy to be heading back to Malawi, where she spent all of last year, and engaging with the community in meaningful work. Now help2kids volunteers have the opportunity to volunteer in both Dar es Salaam and Lifuwu, which offer very different African experiences. From all of us in Tanzania, we wish you a great week!
