Anne from Germany

My name is Anne Neumaier, I’m 20 years old and I come from Germany. When I arrived in Malawi at the beginning of May, I was immediately enthusiastic about this country and also about the locals who are very friendly and always help you out. I decided to volunteer at the nursery school. During my first week many new impressions and experiences awaited me. I needed some time to get used to the local life and customs here but I´ve come to like life here a lot.

The children are incredibly sweet, open-minded and lovable and they are always very happy when we arrive in the morning.

In the afternoons we give nusery school teachers English lessons. The afternoon programme for the children varies between Arts & Crafts, Games & Sports and English lessons. I am convinced that one day I will return to Lifuwu to see what´s become of the children I have grown to love so much.
