About us

help2kids came into being after my wife and I returned from a three weeks holiday in Africa in August 2008.

Although we had tried to research our destination as thoroughly as possible we found, when we arrived, that we did not know very much about the many challenges of life in Africa, such as poverty, corruption and the many health issues including AIDS and Malaria.

Jambo Jambo (Hallo in Swahili)

With 50 pairs of shoes for children in our luggage we flow to Mombasa. I cannot express in words the surprised and the joy on the faces of the children when we distributed the shoes in an orphanage.

During our visit we were shocked by the sight of poverty. At the same time, however, we fell in love with this beautiful country. I cannot describe how many incredibly impressive moments we experienced and how many unforgettable people we met. And, the nature and wildlife are also unbelievably beautiful.

Upon our return we decided to try to help children in Tanzania. And, slowly but surely the development of our project was taking shape.

Up to 2011 it is our vision to build: 1 to 2 orphanages and one school to accommodate approximately 50 - 100 children and to provide them with nutrition, medical treatment and an education. In addition, we plan to open a small hotel where young adults can complete a training course. The resulting profit will flow back into our aid projects.

Help us to help. Today!
